Jenny Candas Ralston

Jenny Candas Ralston of Vassar, age 66, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at her home. Jenny was born September 24, 1956 in Royal Oak, the daughter of the late Emerson and Marion (Lewis) Smith and was a 1974 graduate of Wylie E. Groves High School in Birmingham, MI. Although Jenny preferred staying at home to raise her children, she worked in food service and owned a restaurant, the Russelville Ball Room and Tavern. She enjoyed going on vacation to Tennessee and Florida and going out to eat. She loved living on the farm as a child and spending time with her grandchildren. Jenny was a member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church. Left to cherish Jenny's memory are her son, Gary Ralston of Vassar; daughter, Candice Flebbe and her husband, Joseph, of Caro; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Flebbe; and her Pekenesse, Buffy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Smith; and the father of her children, Mike Ralston. A memorial service will be held at the Watrousville United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. William Sanders officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Watrousville United Methodist Church or the ASPCA.
