Jerry Otho Johnson

Jerry Otho Johnson of Akron, age 63, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at McLaren-Bay Region in Bay City. Jerry was born May 12, 1960, in Bay City, the son of the late Alvin and Frances (Carmona) Johnson. Jerry dedicated many years to his career as a mechanic and autobody painter. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing, tinkering, and collecting various items. He had a deep passion for anything related to racing, finding immense joy and excitement in the world of speed and competition. Jerry possessed the unique ability to engage in lengthy conversations with anyone, whether they were friends, family, or complete strangers. Known for his generosity, he always had candy and snacks on hand for the kids, especially "Cheebos". Above all, Jerry cherished moments spent close to home, particularly in Quanicassee, surrounded by his family.

Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are two sons, Jeremy Johnson and his wife, Tacy, and Calvin Johnson and his girlfriend, Ashley Murray; grandchildren, Nataley Jo and Kaisly Johnson; siblings and their spouses, Jim Johnson, Chester & Lisa Johnson, and Joyce & Rick Naert; and his living partner, Tina Cagle. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Charlie Johnson; and a grandson, Roland Johnson.

A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro.
