Jerry L. Laughlin, 80, of Caseville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Courtney Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in Bad Axe.
Jerry was born December 21, 1943 in Detroit to the late Martin and Clara (Latosky) Laughlin. He was a Laker High School graduate. He married Gloria Farnum on June 15, 1974 at her parent’s home in Owendale. Jerry was a farmer. He enjoyed driving sugar beet trucks during the fall harvest and also worked various jobs with Bud and John Tait for many years. He attended the Elkton Missionary Church. He enjoyed his daily visits to Gott’s Corner visiting with friends, riding his Harley and eating out. Jerry was always willing to help out his neighbors and friends in any way he could.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Gloria; sisters-in-law Kimberly Farnum of Gilbert, AZ and Bonnie Perry of Bad Axe; niece and nephew Jessica and Nicholas Farnum of Gilbert, AZ; several cousins and his faithful cat Boo. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Willis Farnum; mother-in-law June Farnum and brother-in-law Darwin Farnum.
The family would like to thank Courtney Manor for their compassionate care of Jerry during his stay there.
Funeral services will be at Noon Monday, October 21st at the Elkton Missionary Church with Pastor Garret Gazlay officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10-Noon on Monday prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Elkton Missionary Church or donor’s choice. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
