Jerry D. Noble

Jerry D. Noble of Akron, age 81, was risen to his eternal home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Jerry was born May 10, 1936 in Fairgrove, the son of the late James R. and Lucille M. (Hall) Noble. He was united in marriage with the former Janey Young on February 14, 1975 in Fairgrove, and she survives him. A devout Christian in word and deed, Jerry lived the Gospel as a beloved child of His Heavenly Father. His daily life was so gripped by grace, he would seek out new ways to cheerfully bless or generously give to others every day. Bringing a smile to a stranger's face was a common kindness for Jerry. Acquaintances quickly became his friends, with most of his friendships lasting a lifetime because he was tolerant, considerate, fair, sincere, patient, loyal, and naturally put others before himself. He listened well and spoke wisely. He was a man of integrity and people believed what he said. Jerry was an appreciator of people. When anyone was in his presence, they felt they were the most important person. Jerry mentored young farmers while always learning and specializing in his chosen career of agriculture. He was a collector of great, fun-loving, humorous stories about ordinary occurrences of family and friends. When these stories were retold, everyone would laugh. He shared in ministry at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church, serving as trustee, elder, and especially loved seeing young kids come to faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janey Noble; two daughters, Dr. Marsha Kaye Roth and Jodi Lee Haubenstricker; son-in-law, Dr. Greg Roth; two granddaughters, Katelyn Emily Haubenstricker and Amanda Rose Roth; one grandson, Joseph Noble Roth; one sister, Karen (Vic) Sonquist; and one sister-in-law, Sandra (Dale) Pike. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Walter David officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church (youth ministry), the Mike Noble Scholarship Fund, or the donor's favorite charity.
