Jesse Martinez

Jesse M. Martinez, age 55 years, of rural Caro, died at his residence on Wednesday, February 1, 2006. He was born on April 30, 1950, in Casterville, Texas. He was the son of the late Cirilo and Pauline (Sturgis) Martinez and came to Michigan as a small child; first to the Pontiac area and then to Tuscola County where he stayed until his death. Jesse was employed as a cashier at the Admiral Service Station in Caro. During the Vietnam conflict, Jesse served in the U.S. Army. He loved cats and was the target for many people wanting to get a home for their cats. Jesse is survived by his siblings, Andrew Martinez and Linda Leahey of Caro, Gloria Aguilera of Austin, Texas, Jonathon Martinez of Watertown, S.D., Michael Martinez of Bad Axe, Cecil and Penny Martinez of Watertown, S.D., Sarah and Leroy Ocker of Lake Orion; his significant other, Carol Catt of Caro; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Danny Martinez and Carol Mills. A memorial service will be held at the Caro Assembly of God Church on Monday, February 6, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Dietzel officiating. There will be no visitation at the Collon Funeral Home. Friends may call at the church at the time of service. Cremation has taken place and a private family remembrance will be held.
