Jessica “Jessie” Kay Deming of Pigeon, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in her home in Pigeon. Jessie was born in Bad Axe, Michigan, to Ron and Dee (Menominee) Deming and was a 2000 graduate of Laker High School. Jessie was passionately involved with the Special Olympics and competed in basketball, as well as spending time with her fellow athletes bowling. She loved wrestling (always rooting for John Cena) and enjoyed listening to Elvis. Jessie filled countless notebooks with her writing and collected Barbie dolls. Most importantly, Jessie took her role as Aunt very seriously, loving and supporting her nephews and niece throughout their lives. She was giving with her love and affection, always putting others before herself, and though she was quiet and something of a night owl she had a profound impact on anyone who came to know and love her.
Jessie is survived by her parents, Ron and Dee Deming; brother, Matthew (Kim) Deming; sister, Amber Burkett; niece, Raven Deming; and nephews, Lucian Deming, Michael Burkett, and Jared Burkett; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and friends.
Jessie was preceded in death by her infant sister, May Ann; grandmother, Peggy Rinnert (Ballard); grandparents, Donald and Lucille Deming; cousins, April Menominee, Brooklyn Menominee, Chad Davis, and Scotty Davis; and her beloved cat, Honeydew.
In accordance with Jessie’s wishes, cremation is to take place. The family is planning a celebration of life for Jessie on Saturday, July 18, 2026, during one of her favorite times of year, Farmer’s Summerfest in Pigeon. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family, either through checks made to Dee Deming or by using the donation link on this page.
Jessie’s love and memory will live on in the hearts of her friends and family, as well as all those impacted by her generous tissue and organ donation through Gift of Life.
