Jessie Mulholland

Jessie May Mulholland, age 97, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Satchells Christian Retirement Home in Caro, following a lingering illness. Jessie was born March 14, 1914 in Waterford, Ontario, Canada to the late George E. & Ada May (Vrooman) Wood. She was united in marriage with Percy Landon Mulholland on May 2, 1932 in Detroit, and the couple cherished 54 years together before his death in 1986. Jessie was employed at Polewachs Clothing Store in Marlette for many years as well as working as a sales representative for AVON. Jessie spent the last ten years of her working career as a nurses aide at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, until her retirement at the age of 65. She was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge #1049, and enjoyed crafts, sewing, traveling and camping. In her younger years, Jessie was also an avid bowler. Left to cherish her memory is two children and their spouses, Beverly & Stewart Keys of Marlette, Wayne & Pamela Mulholland of Beaverton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Jessie was preceded in death by five siblings, Laurene Wood, Dorothy Pollack, George E. Wood, Donald E. Wood and Shirley Killinger.
