Jill T. Dufty

Jill Tamara Dufty, age 52, of Caseville, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.

Jill was born September 23, 1957 in Pigeon to Janet (Whitcomb) and the late Lowell Dufty. She grew up in Caseville and graduated from Elkton Pigeon Bay Port-Lakers High School in 1975. Since 1984 Dufty’s Blue Water Inn in Caseville has been a family business, with Jill being the most recent family member to operate the business. She enjoyed playing pool on the Dufty’s pool league. She loved nature, and she enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and animals that would visit her yard.

She is survived by her sons Brandon Shetler of Pigeon and Jason Shetler of Croswell; granddaughter Cierra; mother Janet Dufty of Caseville; companion Randy McIntyre of Caseville; sisters Gwen (Gary) Summers of Grayling and Lori (Todd) Wisenbaugh of Pigeon; and many nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father Lowell Dufty and brother Patrick.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, January 9th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Chaplin Karen Bouverette officiating.

Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 am to the time of the service on Saturday.
