Jim Allan Piske

Jim Allan Piske of Fairgrove, age 85, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. Jim was born September 23, 1936 in North Grove, the son of the late John and Emily (Crandall) Piske. Jim graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1955 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He worked at Universal for more than three decades and was a member of the UAW Local 1131. On October 19, 1957, Jim married the love of his life, the former Rosa Mae Wood. Together they shared nearly fifty-five wonderful years, five children, and countless memories. Sadly, Rosa passed on January 17, 2012. Jim was a huge car enthusiast and spent his retired years tinkering in his workshop. He enjoyed antiquing, going to flea markets, and traveling with his companion, Joyce Simpson. Jim is survived by his children, Keith (Kristy) Piske of Westland, Dean (April) Piske of Millington, Darlene Brown of North Platte, Nebraska, and Dale (Julie) Piske of Traverse City; three grandsons, Aaron Fent, Daniel Brown and Dylan Brown; brother, Franklin (Carol) Piske of Burton; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Fent, who passed on July 17, 2001; and grandson, Tyler Piske. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Reverend Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. The family is encouraging mask wearing during attendance at visitation and funeral.
