Joan D. Miller age 85, of Pigeon died peacefully, Monday afternoon, February 11, at her home while under hospice care with her husband, Ken by her side.
She was born December 10, 1927 in Pontiac to the late Clinton and Eula (McCarey) Lippard.
On May 13, 1972, she was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Miller in Clarkston.
Joan was the plant manager’s secretary at Pontiac Motors retiring in 1984 with 26 years of service to the company. In 1988, they moved to Huron County, first in Caseville then Port Austin. Then in November of 2010, they moved to the Rose Garden, in Pigeon as the first residents.
Joan was a member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed playing golf and line dancing.
Surviving are her husband, Ken; a grandson, Jason Giles of California; two sisters, Betty Colfer of Clarkston and Ruby Wile of Solomons, MD and her brother, Jay Lippard of Clinton Twp.
Preceding her in death were three children, Caroline Wesenberg, Barton Giles and Nanette Giles.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Words of condolence may be shared at www.cfcelkton.com.
