Joan M. Ewald

Joan M. Ewald of Caro, age 60, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw. She was born April 24, 1954 in Caro, the daughter of Mina (Wilson) Snyder and the late Robert Snyder. Joan was a Caro High School graduate, and was united in marriage with Dean Ewald on July 24, 1976 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who unselfishly cared for her family and other people. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, spending time with her husband and twin sister, Jean, as well as playing cards, baking and cooking. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairgrove. Joan is survived by her husband, Dean Ewald of Caro; her mother, Mina Snyder; her children, Candi (Troy) Wark of Caro, Derek (Jessie) Ewald of Roscommon, Curt (Crystal) Ewald of Caro; her grandchildren, Logan Wark, Dystani Wark, Cooper Ewald, Emmett Ewald, Addison Ewald, and another grandson soon to arrive, Wesson Ewald; her siblings, Penny Snyder, Richard (Rose) Snyder, Jean (Jim) Terbush, Michael (Gloria) Snyder, Sandra Rand, Bobbi Ann Lugo, Kathy Radzwion, Patti Miller and Nicole Snyder; one half-sister, Joy (Ural) Lupton; many, many nieces and nephews; her godchildren, Jordan Wenta, Amanda Ewald and Kali Ewald; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Snyder; a brother-in-law, Charles Rand; her mother- and father-in-law, Alvin and Maxine Ewald; and an infant niece, Victoria Yakes. In respect of her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev.
