Joan Loretta Hercliff

Joan Loretta Hercliff of Cass City, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Covenant Medical Center – Harrison in Saginaw, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on July 12, 1949, in Cass City, Joan was the daughter of the late Casmier and Sophie (Dlugosielski) Lubaczewski. A proud graduate of Cass City High School, she went on to marry the love of her life, Jack Hercliff, on May 4, 1968. The two recently celebrated fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Joan and Jack shared a passion for travel, especially their journeys out west, exploring the beauty of many national parks across the country. She dedicated 30 years of hard work as a shipping and receiving clerk at T.I. Automotive in Caro before retiring.

In her free time, Joan found joy in reading, gardening, and the occasional trip to the casino. She had a deep love for animals and adored her pets and grand-pets.

Joan was known for her unmatched spirit, strength, and warmth. Her light shone brightly in the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered always for her loving heart, unwavering kindness, fierce loyalty, and resilient soul.

Joan leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jack; children, Kevin Hercliff and Wendy Hercliff; brother, Casmier (Shirley) Lubaczewski, Jr.; sister-in-law, Ruthann Hercliff; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Lubaczewski.

Joan’s funeral service will be on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service.
