Joan Marie Mcphail

Joan Marie McPhail, 72, of Owendale, died at home Friday, November 16, 2018.

Joan was born August 19, 1946 in Bad Axe to the late Matthew and Margaret (Bambach) Fritz.  She graduated from Laker High School in 1964.  She married Robert John McPhail June 18, 1966 in Linkville; he preceded her in death November 11, 2003.  Joan was a nurse at Hills & Dales General Hospital in Cass City until the arrival of her only daughter Michelle on October 25, 1969.  She has provided daycare for many children throughout her lifetime.  Among her favorite pastimes were gardening, cooking and spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle O’Hern and her husband Andrew of Mesa, Arizona; granddaughter Lauren and grandson Christopher O’Hern; sister Jean Logue of Caro; nephews James (Michelle) Grannell and Shawn Grannell; nieces Kelly Albin and Michelle (Nick) Serra; and 7 great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, November 20 ^th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton with Rev. William Cleland officiating.  Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Sebewaing.
