Joann E. Baranic

Joann E. Baranic of Caro, age 84, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Joann was born June 30, 1936 in Dearborn, the daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy (Schultz) Reinick. She was united in marriage with Frank C. Baranic on May 23, 1970 at the Court House in Caro and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2003. Joann was employed as a bookkeeper for the Howard Bell dealership in Caro from 1963 until 1975. She then worked as a receptionist at the Caro Hospital before leaving to become a fulltime homemaker and bookkeeper for Baranic Brothers Farm. Joann loved board games, cards, casinos, crossword puzzles and spending time with family. In her later years, she took up golf in Arizona in order to spend more time with Frank. Joann is survived by six children and their spouses, Frank & Sharon Baranic of Vassar; Keith & Leslie (Robison) Baranic of Roseville, California, Perry & Janelle Baranic of Goshen, Indiana, Deborah & Dave Hutchison of Caro, Donna & Rich Hartman of Somerset, Kentucky, Steve & Kim Robison of Tucson, Arizona; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Paulette Kivel and her husband, Gary, of Munising; one brother, Paul "Butch" Becker and his wife, Yvonne, of Cook. In keeping with Joann's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Tuscola County Medical Care Community.
