Joann Crews

Joann Crews, age 82, of Lake Twp. near Caseville died Tuesday morning, March 18, at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro after a short illness.
She was born March 25, 1920 in Allendale the daughter of the late Fred and Matilda (Pearson) Meyer.
On February 11, 1939, she was united in marriage to Francis J. “Bud” Crews in Indiana. They resided in Pontiac for many years where Bud worked at General Motors. He preceded her in death, June 11, 1991.
Joann was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated Crews Cottages in Lake Twp. for 37 years. She was still very much a part of its day to day operation until her recent illness.
She attended Calvary Baptist in Caseville where she served as an organist for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Larry (Julia) Crews of Caseville and Gary (Marsha) Crews of Caro; seven grandchildren, Brian (Mary) Crews, Brady Crews, Jill (Douglas) Matthews, Jeannine (Andrew) Bunn, Julie (Jason) Wallace, Shari (Jason) Goff and Beth (John) Freeman; 15 great grandchildren; her brother, Fred R. (Kathy) Meyer of Allendale; a sister-in-law, Eleaze Meyer of Allendale 2 nieces and a nephew.
A brother, Fred John Meyer preceded her in death in 1996.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, March 21, at the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Goforth, pastor will officiate with burial in Indianfields Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville from 2 to 8 PM Thursday and at the church after 10 AM Friday morning.
Memorial may be given to the church.
