Joanne M. Rinnert

Joanne Marie Rinnert, age 73 of Pigeon, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Born in Detroit on May 22, 1943, she was the daughter of Karl V. and Wilma M. (Drodt) Emerson. On May 9, 1986 she married Robert S. Rinnert in Bad Axe; he preceded her in death on May 16, 2004.

Joanne worked at Birchview Ranch as a living skills technician for more than 30 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family. Joanne took special care of her mother Wilma and brother Tom For many years. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon.

Her survivors include four children: Paula Kirby of Chattanooga, Tennessee, David (Kristy) Limberger of Adrian, Anne Simmons of Pigeon, and Don Limberger (Lori Mitchell) of Canton; eight step children; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Robert, Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Wilma Emerson, and her brother Thomas F. Emerson.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Salem United Methodist Church, Pigeon, with Rev. David Stewart, pastor, officiating. Visitation at the church will begin at 2 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.
