Joanne Wendling

Joanne Wendling of Caro, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor with her family by her side. Joanne was born August 25, 1934 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Spiker) Egyet. She graduated from Arthur Hill High, class of 1952. Joanne was united in marriage with the love of her life, David Wendling on September 24, 1955 in Saginaw and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2009. Together in 1960, they moved to Caro and bought Thumb Fruit where she worked until her retirement many years later. Joanne enjoyed bowling, golf, snowmobiling, fishing, and shopping. She loved to play cards and attend her Pinochle and Bridge clubs. Above all else, Joanne loved being with her family. Joanne is survived by two children and their spouses, Kathy & Rusty Kasperski of Brighton, Scott & Linda Wendling of Caro; five grandchildren, Tiffani Kasperski of Florida, Chelsea (Ryan) Dobson of Virginia, Adam and Nick Wendling of Caro, Lauren Kasperski of Virginia and her two children, Ethan and Aston; brother, Jim Egyet of Fruitport; and several nieces, cousins, and friends. In keeping with Joanne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Caro United Methodist Church on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Anthony Tomasino officiating.
