Jocelyn Marie "Josie" Crosby

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Josie, our loving mother. Jocelyn Marie Crosby, age 83, passed away, finding peace in her parting as she went home to be with our dad on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 while at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe. Josie was born September 4, 1937 in Caro, the daughter of the late Edward Cottrell and Naomi (Miller) Spaulding. Josie was a 1954 graduate of Fairgrove High School where she met the love of her life, Edward G. Crosby. They were married on October 22, 1955 at his parent's residence in Akron. Josie was a fun-loving and cheerful person. She loved traveling, golfing, and playing cards. Josie also enjoyed the evenings spent at home crocheting, knitting, reading and solving puzzles. Our family grieves her loss, but we also take comfort knowing that our mom and our dad are together again. Josie is survived by her children, Teana Kozlowski of Caro, Dawn Meyer of Bridgeport, Edward C. Crosby and his wife, Shelda, of Owendale, and Mary Crosby and her life partner, RJ Wentworth of Florida; her grandchildren, Johnny L. Robinson III (Jenel), Tina (Chris) Jackson, Sheila (Jeff) Machota, Bree (Darrick) Hartman, Fred (Sarah) Pomeroy, Staci Pomeroy, Steven Crosby, Ava Morell, Isaac Crosby, Ginger Kukulski, Matthew Kukulski, and Emily Kukulski; many great-grandchildren; her sister, Ellen Jane and her husband, Carson O'Dell; her brother, Danny Miller; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Crosby; three brothers, Ronald Cottrell, Charles Cottrell and David Miller; one sister, Viola Gorrell; and two sons-in-law, Tom Meyer and Dave Kozlowski. In keeping with Josie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place in the summer of 2021. We appreciate your expressions of sympathy in our time of great sorrow and wish to thank Courtney Manor Nursing Home for their thoughtful service and tender care. Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.
