Joel Martin Henrichs

Joel Martin “Jody” Henrichs of Caro, peacefully passed away at his home, Janet’s Villa Adult Foster Care, in Caro on May 8, 2024 at the age of 77.

Joel was born in Ft. Payne, Alabama to the late Vernon L. Henrichs and Mae (Rockman) Henrichs on August 29, 1946. He was the second of four children.

Joel has lived in the Caro community since 1952, and to him Caro was always home.

Joel is survived by his sister, Stella (James) Switala of Ypsilanti and his brother Steven Henrichs of Glendale, Arizona. He is also survived by a nephew, three nieces and six great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, Vernon Jerrid Henrichs, and a niece.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI, where he will be buried with his parents and brother.

We, his family, wish to sincerely thank Darlene Gusko and all the staff at Janet’s Villa for the loving care he received over the years. We also thank Fulton Residential Care Corp for providing a home where Joel could live comfortably; and we want to thank Residential Hospice for the compassionate care he received as he lived out his final days at home.
