John Burnett

John N. Burnett, age 54, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at his daughters home in Cass City, following a lingering illness. John was born September 29, 1955 in Columbia, Missouri, the son of the late Samuel N. & Mary Grace (Connor) Burnett. He was united in marriage with Wanda Jordan on February 10, 1985 in Versailles, Missouri, and he worked as a mechanic for most of his adult life. John enjoyed serving the people of Saginaw at the Old Town Church Food Giveaway and Soup Kitchen. John will be best remembered for his love of family, especially his grandchildren and his passion for fixing cars. John is survived by his wife, Wanda Burnett of Caro; two daughters, Michelle Renee Edgar of Versailles, Missouri, Dorothy Louise Burnett and her fiance, Aaron Austin of Cass City; five grandchildren, Autumn and Lindsay Edgar, Christopher Smith, all of Versailles, Missouri, Austin Lapan and Brooklyn Austin of Cass City; one sister, Dorothy Batson of Versailles, Missouri; two brothers, Scottie Burnett of Stover, Missouri and Walter Cadue of Versailles, Missouri. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sammy Jo Burnett and a granddaughter, Angela Burnett.
