John C. Guster

John C. Guster, age 91 of Caseville died Thursday morning, April 5, at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw.

He was born February 5, 1921, in Elkton to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Steinbach) Guster.
After high school, John worked for a couple of years before enlisting in the US Army. John served in France, Rhineland and throughout central Europe during WW II, returning to Caseville in 1945.
On May 29, 1945, he was united in marriage to Betty J. Quaal in Unionville, making their home in Caseville.

John and Betty owned and operated Guster Hardware in Caseville until the mid-seventies, closing for health reasons.
He was a charter member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Caseville; a charter member of the Caseville American Legion, Jean Post 543.
John was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being out of doors working in his gardens, both vegetable and flowers.

Surviving are his wife, Betty; two children, Steve (Linda) Guster of Bay City and Tina (Dan) Morton of Harrison; eight grandchildren 13 great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Elaine Guster of Caseville and numerous others who called him gramps.
Preceding him were two brothers, Joseph and Pete Guster.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, April 7, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. Rev. Karen Bouverette, will officiate with burial and military honors by the Caseville American Legion in Caseville Twp. Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral from 11:00 AM until the time of service Saturday.
