John Willard Dennis

John Willard Dennis of Vassar, age 84, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at his home. John was born February 12, 1937 in Pensacola, Florida, the son of the late Cecil and Eura Henrietta (Morgan) Dennis. At the age of sixteen, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. John was a selfless man and very giving. He loved his family and was kind to everyone he met. He was also a stubborn man with old fashioned values. John was self-employed as a home improvement specialist, doing roofing, siding, and anything else a homeowner might need. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He is survived by two daughters, Helene Seaton of Vassar and Laura Koenig of Chicago, Illinois; one son, Greg Dennis and wife, Tracy, of Caro; three granddaughters, Stephanie Herman, Magen Witzleb, and Faith Dennis; five great-grandsons, Johnathan, Jaxen, Elias, Owen, and Leo; two sisters, Betty Farley and Joann Lee; and nephew, Danny Arrington. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a granddaughter, IC3 Alecia Seaton, U.S. Navy; and one brother, Junior Arrington. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
