John Stanton Dubey, 81, of Caseville, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.
John was born December 6, 1942 in Bad Axe to the late Robert and Phyllis (Turck) Dubey. His parents owned the Bay Port Hotel and he grew up working there. He married Beverly Scepanski in Bad Axe on September 12, 1962. He worked as an electrician at Michigan Oven Company and mowed 40 lawns around Caseville. His grandson Steven was always there to lend a helping hand. John was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and was head usher for over 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8042. He loved to build model ships and also built a dollhouse that his granddaughters enjoyed. He was a loving husband, father and Papa, and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After suffering with Alzheimer’s and dementia for 7 years, with heavy hearts we send you with your sons and our Lord.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; children Steven Liberty, Beth Liberty, Deirdra (John) Snater and Rebecca Nyaga; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren with two more on the way and sister Phyllis Dubey. He was preceded in death by his sons Tony and Ricky; grandson Nathan and brothers Robert and Louie.
Memorial mass will be 11:00am Saturday, November 16th at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Memorials may be made to the family. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
