John R. Flores

John Robert Flores age 76, died at home in Bay Port on Wednesday, June 8.

He was born March 27, 1935 in Castroville, TX to the late Hipolito and Aldelfina (Cuellar) Flores, the oldest of eight children and moved to Pontiac in 1954.
John worked at General Motors Truck & Coach and retired after 30 years.

He was a member of the Pontiac Fraternal Order of Eagles while enjoying hobbies of bowling, billiards, gardening and an avid fisherman who loved to cook and barbecue. He enjoyed his retirement by pursuing those same hobbies and traveling to visit his family and friends in Texas.

Surviving are his spouse, Carol; five children, Wesley, John, Helen, Ramona & Veronica all who reside in Texas and three stepchildren, Laurie, Paul and Amy; 15 grandchildren, Santos, Candeleria, Frank, Antonio, Angela, Stephen, Joseph, Gabriel, Randall, Robert, Antonio, Johnny, Jennifer, Lisa, and John Paul; 12 great grandchildren; four sisters, Evangelina, Hortencia, Guadalupe, Diana and a brother, Hipolito whom all reside in Michigan and many more beloved nieces, nephews and caring relatives.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Eusebio and Rudolph and a sister, Louise.


A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, June 11, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon. Rev. Fr. John Wies, pastor will officiate with internment in St Francis Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, at Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton and at the church after 10:00 AM Saturday.
