John F. Gall , age 90, of Pigeon, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at his home at Country Gardens Assisted Living under the care of hospice.
John was born in Sebewaing on February 12, 1933, to Clarence and Anna (Clausen) Gall. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1951. He served in the Navy Reserves for 12 years. John served his apprenticeship at Ford Motor Company and then worked in Tool and Die at General Motors for 12 years. When he was 40 years old, he decided to start his own businesses, Protogage Tool & Die, Inc. and Profile Manufacturing. John had a strong faith being raised in church at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He also attended and was a strong supporter of Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica. He and his family also started a church in Grand Cayman Island called Safe Harbour Lutheran Church. John led by example, never asking anyone to do something he wouldn't do or hadn't done. Along with a strong work ethic, John also enjoyed being a member of the Safari Club International, National Rifle Association, was an avid sportsman, enjoyed gardening and being on the water. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Caseville.
John is survived by his wife, Jeanette; children: Pamela K. (Daniel) Matthews and John C. (Mary) Gall; 8 grandchildren: William R. (Becky) Briggs, Heather J. (Adam) Myers, Jonathan D. (Katie) Matthews, Joseph C. Gall, Jamie M. Peters, James M. (Natalie) Gall, Christina M. (Christopher) Middleton and Amber L. (Jordan) Garrison; and 23 great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his son, James R. Gall and sister, Elise Mast.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-7pm.
The funeral service will be Monday, February 20, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation at the church will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Pastor Christopher Suggitt will be officiating.
Burial will be at Silverlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorial donations may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Caseville.
