John James Heck

John James Heck, age 74, of Sebewaing, passed away in his sleep at his home on April 23, 2024 due to a lingering illness.

John was born in Pigeon on January 5, 1950, to Raymond W. and Ruth V. (Dubs) Heck. He graduated from Lakers High School, Class of 1968. He married Jean P. Nicholas on April 4, 1970, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Linkville. John enjoyed listening to all his grandkids stories, hunting and watching old westerns.

John is survived by his loving wife, Jean; sons: Trevor Heck of Marcena, Arizona and Jason Heck of Sebewaing; daughter, Angela Steele of Bay City; grandchildren: Emma, Hayden, Coleman and Lydia; brother, Don (Nancy) Heck of Pigeon.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruth Heck, and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2pm-8pm.

The funeral service will be Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 2pm with the service at 3pm.

Burial will be private at the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to McLaren Hospice.
