John H. "Jack" Kiehl, Jr.

John H. "Jack" Kiehl, Jr. of Caro, age 73, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. He was born November 10, 1940 in Huron County, the son of late John and Alma (Kirsch) Kiehl. Jack was united in marriage with the former Betty Jean Nelson-Marshall on October 25, 1975 in Caro, and she survives him. Jack spent his working life in agriculture related fields which included cutting wood and selling it. In addition to cutting wood, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting at the gun club. Jack was an avid TV watcher, and specifically enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Westerns, especially those starring Gene Autry. Jack is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Betty Kiehl of Caro; seven children, Brenda (Ked) Miller of Bad Axe, Marty Marshall of Caro, Tina (Jim) Wallace of Caro, Samantha (Frank) Martin of Caro, Ronald (Waynette) Kiehl of Shepherd, Terry Kiehl of Hawaii, John (Patricia) Kiehl of North Carolina; ten grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Ed Kiehl of Bad Axe, Daniel (Marie) Kiehl of Bad Axe, Rick (Joyce) Kiehl of Bad Axe, Joann (Herb) Roggenbuck of Bad Axe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Chuck Kiehl; two brothers, Bill and Bob Kiehl; one sister, Mary Sageman and her husband, "Tubby"/"Junior"; and one sister-in-law, Mary Kiehl. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Chris Taylor facilitating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove.
