John Wesley Lockwood

John Wesley Lockwood of Huntington, Indiana, formerly of Caro, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 30, 1929 in Caro, the son of the late Wesley and Lotela (Hudson) Lockwood. John served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War stationed in Japan, and farmed with his father and brother, Alvin, for twenty years. He was employed with Armour Pharmaceutical Company in Bourbonnais, Illinois for twenty years, and was a member of College Park United Brethren Church. He was united in marriage with Charlotte Knoblet, who preceded him in death. He later married Eileen Greenleaf who preceded him in death. He married Grace Ann Price on March 20, 1999, and she survives him. John is survived by his wife, Grace Ann Lockwood; one son and daughter-in-law, John W. & Cathy Lockwood of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, Alvin Lockwood of Caro and Paul Lockwood of Cass City; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Lockwood. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Phillip Burkett officiating. Burial will follow at Almer Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the College Park United Brethren Church or to Gideon's International.
