John Thomas Maccallum

John Thomas MacCallum, 82, of Caseville, died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

John was born March 23, 1936 in Owendale to the late Arnold and Helen (Slack) McCallum.  He graduated from Owendale High School in 1954 and then served in the US Navy Reserve.  He married Dolores Joann Badgerow on August 2, 1958 in Standish.  He worked as an installer and repairer of automatic doors.  Having built a cottage in Caseville in 1966, he moved there permanently in 2008 from Warren.  He enjoyed model trains and feeding birds.  He was a lifelong Free and Accepted Mason, having served as Past Master of Paul Revere Lodge in St. Clair Shores and serving as chaplain of Hubbard-Winsor Lodge in Pigeon.

He is survived by his wife Dolores Joann; children John Jr. of Standish, Sherry (Richard) Walters and Robert, both of Warren; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Bonnie Gaeth and brother Paul both of Owendale.  He was preceded in death by his infant son Paul Thomas.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, July 7 th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating.  Burial will be in Alger Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-8pm Friday.  There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00pm Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Hubbard-Winsor Lodge Scholarship Fund.
