John Edward Neville

John Edward Neville, age 75, of Caseville, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.

John was born June 24, 1936 in Detroit to the late Edward and Dorothy (Barger) Neville. He graduated from Berkley High School in 1955. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958, stationed in Germany. On August 13, 1955 he married Carolyn Schell in Berkley.

In 1996 John retired from Consumers Powers as a serviceman with 31 years service. Later that year he moved from Warren to Caseville, where he had been vacationing since 1982. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church. During the colder months he and his wife escaped Michigan and headed to Winter Haven, Florida. He enjoyed the Great Lakes, especially shipping and lighthouses, working on clocks and fixing whatever needed fixing.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn; daughter Linda and her husband James Fournier of Lake Orion and son Michael and his wife Karen of Highland; grandchildren Brian, Charles and Jonathan; great-grandchildren Halie, Chelsie, Kate, and Allie; sister Judith Sarti of Shelby Twp. and brother James and his wife Paula of Marquette.

A funeral mass will be at 10:00 am Friday at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Pare presiding. Military honors will be presented by the Caseville American Legion.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 pm Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. He will lie in-state one hour before mass on Friday in Church. There will be a vigil service at 6pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Huron County Nature Center.
