John Richard "Jack" Rudy

John "Jack" Richard Rudy, 69, of Deford, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Covenant Medical Center Harrison in Saginaw, with his family by his side. Jack was born on August 30, 1951, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John Joseph and Marilyn Ann (Wright) Rudy. He started out working at a gas station at a very young age. Jack later traveled the US, working on everything from Jeeps to motorcycles, classic cars, and trucks. He was part of a pit crew at the Daytona 500 and an equipment operator on the railroad. The railroad brought Jack to Michigan where he met and married his wife, Jeanne, on September 3, 1991. He was a hard worker, running his business, Great Lakes Auto ‘n' Truck Restoration, prior to retirement. Jack spent as much time as he could outdoors, enjoying wildlife and looking for morels. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, car shows, auto racing, woodworking, the Pittsburgh Steelers, good food and good times with family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife, Jeanne Sue (Magiera) Rudy; one daughter, Kelsey Anna Rudy; two sisters, Robin and Kathy, both of California; and beloved pets, Kita and Tigger. He is cherished and will be missed dearly. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Michigan Special Olympics, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
