John J. Sherman

John J. Sherman of Caro, age 46, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his residence, following a period of declining health. John was born January 7, 1970 in Caro, the son of Janet DeShaw and the late Henry Sherman. He was raised in Flint and was a high school graduate. His working life involved carpenter labor in the mobile home manufacturing industry. For a period of time, John was employed as a cook and enjoyed cooking as well as art. He is survived by one son, Christopher Sherman of Jackson; his parents, Janet & James Kitchen of Deford; one brother, Henry & Pat Sherman of Caro; three sisters, Shirley O'Brien of Fenton, Susan James & Ricky Moss of Deford, Brenda Kovick and her friend, Lenny, of Walled Lake; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda May. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Sherman Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Janet Kitchen, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
