John C. Wiederhold, 66, a lifelong resident of Elkton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.
John was born January 26, 1951 in Bad Axe to the late Phil and Annabell (Grigg) Wiederhold and grew up in Elkton. He worked with the family business, Wiederhold Repair Service, after attending Lakers High School, until he and his wife started their own body and repair shop, J & B Body Shop in the early 1980’s.
On May 7, 1982, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Babiszewski in Bad Axe and made their home south of Elkton. They worked together at their shop until John retired in 2015 for health reasons. They attended the Community Wesleyan Church in Elkton. John was an avid fisherman, enjoyed deer hunting and restoring antique cars.
Surviving are his wife, Becky; children, Alicia (Jeff Dubs) Wiederhold of Elkton, Jeanette (Mike Myers) Wiederhold of Bad Axe and John (Sarah) Wiederhold of Harbor Beach; four grandchildren; mother-in-law, Fanny Nieschulz of Elkton; siblings, Ed (Mary) Wiederhold of Elkton, Alice Birchfield of Leander, TX, Donna Sherwood of Bad Axe, Connie Wiederhold of Elkton, Laura Prill of Elkton, Rose (Dennis) Krastes of Owendale and Doug (Michelle) Wiederhold of Elkton and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a sister, Lilly Jackson and brothers-in-law Pete Birchfield, Bill Prill, Jim Sherwood, and Tom Babiszewski.
