Jose P. Villalpando

Jose P. Villalpando of Caro, age 78, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Jose was born April 27, 1938 in Texas, the son of the late Baldomero and Maria (Perez) Villalpando. He spent most of his life working on his family farm with his father, and later for a farming co-op in Texas. Jose came to Michigan in 1980 and found work with the Michigan Sugar Company. He later worked for Central Shop Rite as a custodian, retiring in 1991. Jose liked to be outdoors, work on cars, and especially loved playing with his grandchildren. Jose is survived by six children and their spouses, Norma & Cory Walstead of Caro, Jose, Jr. & Kristina Villalpando of Caro, Rick & Sarina Villalpando of Cass City, Manuel & Betsie Villalpando of Hemlock, Baldomero Villalpando of Essexville, Rolando Villalpando of Harrison Township; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jesus. In keeping with Jose's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial is being planned.
