Joseph Laurin Darling, age 82, of Caro, formerly from Reese, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Amazing Love AFC Home in Caro. He was born on March 7, 1928 in Burt to the late Andrew and Anna (Denslow) Darling. Joseph and the former Barbara (Gann) Darling were united in marriage on August 13, 1955 in Saginaw. Red was employed as an oiler at Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry until his retirement. He enjoyed puttering and working at the recycling station in Juniata Township. Joe was a member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children, Patrese (Duane) Hickey of Fairgrove, April (David) Duggan of Warren, Jody Darling of Bay City, and Trent Darling of Caro; 5 grandchildren, David (Kathleen) Dell of Metamora, David (Dani) Lynn II of Hazel Park, Brian Dell of Fairgrove, September (John) Shelton of Leeds, Alabama, and Robin (John) Esteb of Indianapolis, Indian; 6 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Danielle and Amber Shelton, Elizabeth Duggan and Scott and Ava Esteb; one brother, Rolland (Joyce) Darling of Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamara Lee Darling; a granddaughter, Sarah; and the remainder of his siblings. A memorial service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Following cremation, burial will be at Juniata Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Watrousville United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
