Joseph E Gosselin

Joseph E. Gosselin, age 58, of Oak Beach and New Baltimore, died Monday morning, December 12, at his home while under hospice care.
He was born April 7, 1947, in Detroit to the late David and Marion (Clos) Gosselin. They had a cottage at Oak Beach where Joe spent a great deal of time while growing up.
After high school Joe got a job at Chrysler Corp. A short time later he was inducted in to the US Army and served in Vietnam 1967 and 68. He returned to Chrysler and worked at several of their plants in the Detroit area and was currently at the Detroit Axle Plant in Quality Assurance. On May 22, 1971, he was united in marriage to Sandy McIlhargie at St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog and made their home near New Baltimore. They continued coming to the Oak Beach with their family cottage as often as possible.
Joe was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Baltimore, member and past chief steward of Local 412. He enjoyed bowling and golf and loved to travel.
Surviving are his wife, Sandy; three children, Jean Gosselin and her friend, Mark Duvall of Algonac, Joe Gosselin and Jack Gosselin both of Clinton Twp.; three grandchildren, Savannah, Marina and Dylan; four sisters, Louise (Dick) McIlhargie of Caseville, Vernetta (Dale) King and Marion (Jerry) Yax of Lake Twp. and Rita (Sam) Tibbits of Kinde. A brother, David Gosselin preceded him in death last year.
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, December 17, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Friday and at the church after 10:00 AM Saturday.
Memorials may be directed to St. Felix Church or St. Felix Cemetery.
