Joseph A, Higgison, age 62, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at his home in Fairgrove, following a lingering illness. He was born on May 5, 1949 in Bay City, the son of the late Marvin and Sophia (Tibor) Higgison, and moved to Fairgrove eight months ago from Harrisville, Michigan. Joseph was united in marriage with the former Glenda Bauder on August 10, 1976 in Midland, and she survives him. Joseph was a U.S. Army veteran of Viet Nam. He was employed with Dow Chemical Company in Midland for over twenty-five years before medical retirement in May of 2003. He enjoyed watching television, hunting, fishing, the outdoors and target practicing. His family will fondly remember his wonderful sense of humor. Surviving is his wife of over thirty-five years, Glenda Higgison of Fairgrove; two fraternal twins, Tiara Higgison of Fairgrove, Evette & Bryan Louis of Midland; one granddaughter, Savannah Higgison; one brother, Ronald Higgison of Lincoln; one sister, Gail & Ronald Wallenmaier of Mikado; many nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Military honors will follow. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Higgison Family Discretionary Fund.
