Joseph Naert

Joseph Naert, 72, of Caseville, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at his home.

Joe and his twin brother William were born July 4, 1946 to the late Marcel and Lena (Trotter) Naert.  He graduated from Detroit’s Finney High School in 1965 and then served in the US Army.  He married Korene Graham on February 7, 1970 at Ascension Catholic Church in Warren.  Joe retired after 35 years with the City of Detroit Water Department as a supervisor.  In 1999 he moved from Detroit to Caseville.  He was an active member and officer in the Caseville Eagles Club, serving as a trustee and 10 years as treasurer.

He is survived by his wife Korene; children Kelly (Peter) Raiss of Chesterfield, Craig Naert of Caseville and John Naert of Warren; grandsons Joseph Naert and Alex Raiss; sisters-in-law Alice Naert of Caseville and Pam Naert of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Michael and twin William.

A memorial service will be 1:00 Sunday, September 9 ^th at the Caseville Eagles Club, 7017 E Park Street, Caseville.  Urn interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
