Joseph F. "Joe" Nagy

Joseph F. Nagy of Caro, age 68, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born February 11, 1951 in Cass City, the son of the late Frank & Esther (May) Nagy. He grew up on a dairy farm in Caro and graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1969. He worked as a welder for a brief time before taking a position as a resident care aide at the Caro Center, retiring after thirty-five years of service. Joe's farming roots never left him as he was always happiest outdoors. He'll be remembered as a man that could assemble or repair anything put in front of him and was often found helping neighbors with a project. He was an avid member of the NRA, enjoyed bullseye shooting at the Tuscola County Conservation Club, hunting, and even owned a gun shop in Caro. He also loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was a member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). Joe was united in marriage with the former Debra Lask on October 10, 1987 in Caro. He gave generously of his time and talents, was a devoted grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. Left to cherish Joe's memory are his loving wife, Debra Nagy of Caro; three children, Janice Nagy of Caro, Chris Smith of Burton, Mike Nagy of Caro; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ali, Baylon, Kamden, and Leyton; three sisters, Helen Smith and her husband, Cliff, of Gaylord, Violet Maten of Cheboygan, Julie Anglim of California; two sisters-in-law and their spouses, Dawn & Dave Page of East Jordan, Donna & David Radka of Reese; and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Butterfield officiating.
