Joseph F. Santos age 61, of Cass City, died early Monday morning, November 8, with his family gathered around his bedside.
He was born July 12, 1949, in Elkton at the home of his parents the late Joseph and Paula (Cruz) Santos. Joe grew up in Elkton and was a 1968 graduate of Laker High School. After high school he got a job at Saginaw Steering Gear and settled in the Cass City area. He was united in marriage to Wanda Miracle at St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City. Two years later he was drafted into the US Army, serving in Germany. He returned to Cass City after his tour of duty and also to Steering Gear for 26 more years, retiring in 1998.
Joe enjoyed his retirement , hunting and fishing, and an avid golfer, was an excellent dancer and loved being with his entire family. Joe was well known around Cass City and was loved by all.
He was a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda; three children, Jobe (Jessie) Santos of Keystone Hts., FL, Keri Klein of Cass City and Brian Santos of Cass City; five grandchildren, Savannah, Riley, McKenzie, Dawson, and Blayk; his brother, Alfredo (Georgina) Santos of Elkton, four sisters, Maria (David) Armbruster of Saginaw, Anita (Greg) Harrant of Midland and Rosa (John) Klosowski of Elkton; his in-laws, Glen and Millie Miracle of Cass City and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Esperanza Hernandez and his godson, Johnny Klosowski.
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, November 12, at St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
A parish rosary service will be conducted 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends may call from 2 to 9 PM Thursday and at the church after 10 AM Friday.
