Joseph Talicska

Joseph Talicska, age 62, a dear friend of Norma G. Rickwalt, passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, following a lingering illness. Joe was born November 23, 1944 in Bay City, the son of the late Joseph E. & Janette Marie (Vaillancourt) Talicska. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Bay City in 1962 and later served with the U.S. Army. Joe had been employed in a variety of jobs over the years, including working for Dow Chemical in Midland, raising landscaping plants in Texas, working as a mechanic, and was also employed at a dairy farm. For many years, Joe was an active member and sponsor with Al-Anon at the local level and was knowledgeable about activities of the group at the state level. During his free time, Joe enjoyed fixing things that were broken, maintaining his lawn, reading, listening to music, going to garage sales and watching cooking shows on television. Joe is survived by his loving companion of over 17 years, Norma G. Rickwalt of Caro; two children and their spouses, James Talicska, Lori & Paul Meylan, all of Auburn; two grandchildren, Ethan and Elijah Meylan; two sisters, Donna Wright of Bay City, Carol & Glen Bisanz of Auburn; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ed Wright on December 26, 2005.
