Joshua Lapratt

Joshua Keith LaPratt passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006 at his home in Saginaw. He was 23 years old. Joshua was born July 21, 1982, the son of Keith E. Victoria L. (Shephard) LaPratt in Cass City. He graduated from Heritage High School with the class of 2000, began attending Delta College, and shortly after joined the U.S. Marine Reserves. After finishing Basic Training at Camp Pendleton in California, he was assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines in Saginaw, serving in Kuwait and Iraq in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his return to Saginaw, he resumed his studies at Delta College in Criminal Justice. He was currently serving as a Reserve Officer with the Frankenmuth Police Department. His passion and goal was to become a police officer. Joshua was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed his dog, Norman, playing cards, and getting in a couple rounds of golf - a game he was intrigued by. Joshua is survived by his dear friend and fiance, Katie OConnell of Saginaw; his parents, Vicki Daryl Davis of Jacksonville, FL and Keith E. LaPratt Chris Shaw of Fairgrove; his sisters, Jennifer Jason Stokes of Jacksonville, FL, Danielle Tony Floros of Novi, and Megan Davis of Tampla, FL; his fraternal grandmother, Pauline LaPratt of Caro; his maternal grandmother, Sondra Shephard of Cheboygan and his nephews P. J. Stokes and Andrew Floros; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Alex LaPratt and Clifford Shephard.
