Joshua Matthew Schwarz

Joshua Matthew Schwarz of Bay City, age 36, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Josh was born June 5, 1977 in Saginaw, the son of John Matthew & Chris M. Schwarz. He graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1996 and was able to serve his country while performing his dream job of being a Merchant Marine. Josh loved the freedom of the ocean and being able to travel the world. His quiet, yet likable personality made it easy for him to make friends across the country. Always a family man, Josh was quick with a prank and ready for the next adventure. He enjoyed woodworking, taking walks and being outdoors, shooting guns, and old cars, especially his Ford Mustang. Josh was currently working to become an engineer and inspired his family to reach for their own goals with his confidence in them. Josh is survived by his mother and step-father, Chris Schwarz and Fred Binder of Caro; father, John Matthew Schwarz of Bay City; sister and brother-in-law, Danielle & Josh Halpin of Mayville; grandfather, Rex Binder of Caro; special aunts and uncle, Diane & Gary Richter of South Carolina, Lorena Welch of Tennessee; a friend close to his heart, Pamela of Bay City; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and cat, George. Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gloria & Bill Welch, Evelyn & Joey Schwarz. A private funeral service was held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro where Rev. Tony Jacobs officiated. Cremation followed the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Calvary Chapel of Vassar.
