Joyce Brown

Joyce Brown, age 70 years, of Caro, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Caro Community Hospital. She was born on January 14, 1938 in Traverse City to the late Roy and Alice (Montague) Frank. She graduated from high school in Traverse City. On July 27, 1957 the former Joyce Frank married Robert Brown, Sr. in Traverse City. They were career military and in 1974 they moved to Caro. Joyce was a devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafting, especially plastic canvassing. She is survived by her husband, Robert Brown; four children, Cindy Brown of Caro, Sherrie (Bryon) Avery of Caro, Monica (Don) Nuggent of Caro and Robert (Marsha) Brown II of Caro; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; her siblings, Ray (Doris) Frank and Mable Flees of Traverse City; her mother-in-law, Ilah Brown of Caro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Floyd Brown, and the remainder of her siblings. A private time of remembrance will be observed. In accordance with Joyces wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at the Collon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
