Joyce Elaine House, age 80, of Sebewaing, passed away March 2, 2017, at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe.
Joyce was born in Bay Port on September 6, 1936, the daughter of the late Henry and Elvira (Eden) Siewert. She graduated from High School in Pigeon in 1954. She then attended business school for 2 years. Joyce worked many jobs throughout her life, but her favorite was teaching special education in Ohio for 5 years and working those summers with the mentally challenged. Joyce was a talker. She enjoyed visiting with anyone. She also like watching the Detroit Lions, MSU, U of M, Gun Smoke and MASH. She also liked traveling and reading books. She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and is a past member of the Ladies Aid and was on the prayer chain.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Rodda "Rod" House; sister: Doris (Harvey) Schuette; many nieces and nephews; and her dearest dog, Miley.
She is preceded in death by her two siblings: Marilyn Siewert and Jim "Red" Siewert.
Joyce has chosen cremation to take place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.
