Joyce L. Parker

Joyce L. Parker of Caro, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro with her family by her side. She was born October 22, 1927 in Pigeon, the daughter of the late Sam and Dora (Schutte) Lucht. She attended grade school at Windsor #1 and graduated from Pigeon High School in 1944. On December 2, 1944, Joyce was united in marriage with Hazen Parker, and the couple recently celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary. Joyce's life revolved around her home and family and she cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards and games with family and friends. Joyce, along with her husband, Hazen, enjoyed many winters at their home in Saddlebag Lake Resort in Florida. Joyce is survived by her husband, Hazen Parker of Caro; two daughters, Beverly & James Copeland of Gagetown, LouAnn & Mark Dean of Midland, five grandchildren, Bradley & Karen Copeland of Traverse City, Melissa & Ross Kershner of Sanford, Jodi Lozon of Mason, Brent Harger of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Jessica Caldwell of Mt. Pleasant; three great-granddaughters, Alexis Marr and Kayla and Jenna Lozon; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and their spouses, Agnes & Peter Gorte and Irene & Wilbert Errer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at Grant Cemetery.
