Joyce Irene Schad of Caro, age 84, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 26, 1941 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Alvin and Mary (Strickland) Guild. Joyce graduated from Cass City High School with the class of 1960. She worked in various optometry offices and clothing stores in Caro, retiring in 1997. Joyce enjoyed bowling in her younger years and was very talented at sewing, even trying her hand at upholstery. She always stayed busy, moving the furniture around in the house and was great at wallpapering. On July 18, 1998, Joyce married the love of her life, Carter Schad. Together they enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. Joyce’s happy personality and smile will live on in the hearts of her family.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Carter R. Schad; son, Dale Bradley; stepchildren, Daniel Schad, Douglas Schad, Dell Schad, and Deanna Schad; step-son-in-law, Gordon Stackolosa; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Bossert (Clifford Putman); sister-in-law, Lilian Guild; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Deborah Stackolosa; step-grandson, Gordie Stackolosa; brother, Gerry Guild; brother-in-law, John Bossert.

A celebration of life and luncheon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Moose Lodge in Caro, 1366 East Caro Road, Caro, MI 48723.
