Joyce Lucille Shue

Joyce Lucille Shue, age 93, of Sebewaing, formerly of Fairgrove and Akron, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025. Born on September 25, 1931, in Muskegon, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Alberta (Kenyon) Gee. As one of eleven siblings growing up on the family farm, Joyce developed a deep love for the outdoors. From a young age, she had a special fondness for dogs—a love that lasted throughout her life. Whether it was her own pets or any dog she met, they were always drawn to her. Joyce married the late Lyle Elwood Shue, and together they were blessed with eight wonderful children. In her younger years, she was very artistic, drawing and coloring. Joyce also had a passion for tending to her flowers. She wore out many garden hoes and corn cutters, keeping them sharp and ready for action. No weed, tall or short, could escape her determination as she worked in her garden from sunrise to well after dark, rarely stopping for a meal. Joyce's faith in the Lord was central to her life, and she was a devoted churchgoer until the past few years. She contributed to her church by helping with Bible school, serving on the church board, and offering rides to others.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Joyce & Darryl Duncan, Marilyn & Terry Eicholtz, Duane Shue, Kitty & Ray Gonzales, Ella & Dan Dinsmore, Rosanna Shue and Adam & Angie Shue; grandchildren, Mark & Trisha Strawn, Bree Ann & Brandon Dowd, Sabrina & Jeff Sauer, Brandon & Haley Dinsmore, Tiffany Thayer, Tori Duncan; Danielle Prince; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ryder, Aurora, Lily, Jack, Waverly, and Cyrus; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings and son, Lyle Allen Shue.

Joyce’s funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Ray Gonzales will officiate with burial being held the following day at Hilton Cemetery in Casnovia Township. The family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Joyce’s service.
