Joyce Stout, age 71, of Cass City, Michigan, passed away suddenly on December 28, 2025. Born on January 25, 1954, in Flint, Joyce lived a life rooted in compassion, service, and selfless love.
Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Jean Stephens, and her sister, Mary “Vicki” Thomas.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Michael Stout, and her three sons, Shane Stout (Michelle Stout), Brett Stout (Christina Stout), and Brandon Stout. Joyce was a proud and devoted Nana to Finneas Stout, Ashlyn Velasco Stout, Jacob Velasco Stout, Kaitlyn Stout, Hayden Stout, and Brooklyn Stout. She cared for her grandchildren like no one ever could, loving them fiercely and completely, and taking immense pride in each of them. She is also survived by her brother, Ethridge “Mike” Stephens, and Alberta Hilton, along with many extended family members and friends.
Joyce owned and operated Star Video in Saginaw, Michigan, alongside her husband and partner, Michael, for many years. Together, they built a business and lasting relationships with friends. Later in life, Joyce transitioned into the service industry, where she found her true calling. Helping people was not something Joyce did occasionally, it was who she was. She never knew the word no. If someone needed help, she gave it freely and without expectation of anything in return.
Joyce’s life can best be understood through the legacy she leaves behind. She poured herself into others, giving her time, her energy, and her heart so that those around her felt supported, cared for, and never alone. Having given all she had, Joyce has now found her rest. Her legacy remains in the strength she passed on, the love she shared, and the comfort she leaves behind for all who knew and loved her.
