Joyce Ann Wilson

Joyce A. Wilson, 75, of Sebewaing, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Rochester Hills.

Joyce was born April 10, 1947 in Detroit to the late Robert Sr and Victoria (Lukasiak) LaFrance. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Master’s Degree in English and received her teaching certificate from Saginaw Valley State University. She moved to Caseville in 1982 and taught as a substitute teacher in several local school districts and Catechism at St. Roch Catholic Church. She enjoyed caring for her cats, dogs and family and playing cards with friends or solitaire when no one else was around to play. Joyce was an avid bird watcher and lover of nature.

Joyce is survived by her son Phillipe (Katie Richmond) LaFrance-Wilson of Sebewaing; brother Robert M. LaFrance Jr. of Northville; nephew Robert M. LaFrance III and niece Marcia Hemphill; and several cousins, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be 11:00am Tuesday, October 4th at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. George Amos presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel.
